Mechanism of Action

Kisspeptin is a key upstream regulatory molecule of the HPG (hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal) axis:

1. Binds to the KISS1R receptor on hypothalamic GnRH neurons

2. Stimulates pulsatile GnRH release

3. The pituitary gland secretes LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone)

4. The gonads (testes/ovaries) secrete sex hormones such as testosterone and estradiol

## Dissolution and Storage (Practical Procedures)

– Solvent: Sterile distilled water or acetic acid solution (0.1% AcOH) is preferred; BAC water may also be used

– Reconstitution: Handle the lyophilized peptide vial on ice; slowly add the solvent and mix gently to avoid vigorous shaking

– Storage:

– Unopened lyophilized product: Store at -20°C in a dry environment, protected from light

– Aliquoted and frozen after reconstitution: Store at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; use within 1–3 months
