## Development Background

A Class 1 innovative peptide drug independently developed in China and one of the earliest GLP-1/glucagon dual agonists developed globally. Approved for marketing by China’s NMPA in June 2025 for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and overweight/obesity; still in the clinical trial phase overseas.

## Mechanism of Action (Scientific/Clinical Mechanism)

Synergistic dual-target action, regulating metabolism through two pathways:

1. GLP-1 receptor activation: Glucose-dependent promotion of insulin secretion; inhibition of glucagon; delayed gastric emptying; reduced appetite; and decreased caloric intake
2. GCGR (glucagon receptor) activation: Promotes fat breakdown and increases energy expenditure; reduces liver fat and improves non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
