## Mechanism of Action

Sermorelin Acetate is an active fragment (1-29) of natural GHRH and the shortest peptide segment that retains full GHRH receptor agonist activity:

1. Binds to GHRH receptors in the anterior pituitary, stimulating pulsatile secretion of endogenous GH, not exogenous GH

2. Maintains the natural negative feedback of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, preventing GH levels from rising indefinitely

3. Promotes IGF-1 secretion by the liver following an increase in GH

## Pharmacokinetics (for research reference)

– Very short half-life: approximately 6–7 minutes after intravenous administration; slightly longer after subcutaneous administration

– GH peaks approximately 30 minutes after administration; effects last 2–3 hours

– Listed on the WADA S2 Prohibited List; banned in competitive sports

## Reconstitution & Storage (Laboratory Procedures)

1. Solvent: BAC bacteriostatically treated water / AA sterile water

2. Example: 2 mg lyophilized vial + 1 mL BAC water → concentration 2 mg/mL

3. Lyophilized powder: Store sealed at -20°C, protected from light

4. After reconstitution: Refrigerate at 2–8°C; use within 2–4 weeks; repeated freeze-thaw cycles are prohibited
