– Molecular Formula: \(\boldsymbol{C_{212}H_{350}N_{56}O_{78}S}\)
– Molecular Weight: 4963.44 Da
– Appearance: White lyophilized powder
– Solubility: Easily soluble in bacteriostatic water (BAC) or AA water
– Sequence: Ac-Ser-Asp-Lys-Pro-Asp-Met-Ala-Glu-Ile-Glu-Lys-Phe-Asp-Lys-Ser-Lys-Leu-Lys-Lys -Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln-Glu-Lys-Asn-Pro-Leu-Pro-Ser-Lys-Glu-Thr-Ile-Glu-Gln-Glu-Lys-Gln-Ala-Gly-Glu-Ser
## Mechanism of Action (Research Level)
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide that mimics the body’s natural thymosin β4; its core functions are:
1. Regulates actin to promote cell migration, enabling repair cells to move to the site of injury
2. Promotes angiogenesis, supplying blood and oxygen to damaged tissues
3. Modulates inflammatory factors to alleviate acute and chronic inflammation
4. Promotes the proliferation of fibroblasts and keratinocytes, accelerating the repair of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and skin wounds
## Common Research Areas
– Repair of muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries
– Skin wound healing
– Cardiovascular endothelial repair research
– Animal studies related to anti-inflammation and tissue remodeling
## Reconstitution and Storage (Laboratory Procedures)
1. Reconstitution solvent: Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water); sterile distilled water may also be used
2. Example: For a 5 mg lyophilized vial, add 2.5 mL of BAC water → concentration 2 mg/mL
3. Storage: Store the lyophilized powder at -20°C away from light; after reconstitution, refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 4 weeks; for long-term storage, aliquot and freeze to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles
4. Half-life: Approximately 2 days; systemic effect, not limited to the injection site
## Key Distinctions
There are two terms on the market that are easily confused:
1. Full-length Thymosin Beta‑4 (43-peptide, CAS 77591-33-4), which many suppliers refer to simply as TB500
2. The TB500 heptapeptide fragment LKKTETQ (retaining only the active fragment); some suppliers label this separately. These are not exactly the same substance; verify the amino acid sequence in quotes and COAs
Compliance Notice
– For in vitro / animal research use only; human injection and medicinal use are prohibited
